Older dogs experience an aging that involves, among many other changes, a decrease in the level of activity, an increase in the proportion of body fat and a decrease in muscle mass. These changes in body condition are mainly due to a decrease in the basal metabolic rate during aging.

That is why Retorn light & Senior has been formulated with less fat and an adequate proportion of protein that helps compensate for muscle tissue losses without overloading organs such as the kidneys or the liver, as their function is reduced.

Monoprotein food with salmon as the only source of animal protein. With hydrolysed salmon protein. The hydrolysis of the protein into smaller peptides makes it less allergenic, in addition to being much more digestible and staying for less time in the intestine. Brewer's yeast is a natural source of highly digestible proteins, with a good profile of essential amino acids, and of B vitamins, especially biotin (B8) and folic acid (B9). Promotes the development of the nervous and cognitive system and the bone marrow. It also helps to balance the intestinal flora.

Peas and sweet potato, provide food with a medium glycemic index, the release of glucose into the bloodstream and its assimilation is slow and gradual, which favours a better regulation of blood sugar, helping to prevent and control obesity (effect facilitated by its low contribution in fat), metabolic syndrome and diabetes.

High content of Omega 3 (EPA + DHA). With aging, the skin loses its elasticity and becomes less flexible as a result of the increase of the pseudoelastin in the elastic fibers.
